“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Heb. 13:8)
Do you fear change or welcome it wholeheartedly?
Sometimes, when we get bored with the status quo, we crave for change. The truth is, change is inevitable whether we desire for it or not, and we are very seldom in control of it. So we find it hard to adjust to it.
Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, unless you change and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 18:3). This was not a statement that He made to the unbelievers, but to His disciples who were with Him and were already following Him. So change (not only a one time change, but on a regular basis) is a must to follow Him, to enter in to heaven.
Many of us may have a love/hate relationship with change. There are times that we really are concerned of the eventualities and the unforeseen situations that change would bring in. At the same time, embracing change leads us to meeting new people, facing new challenges and having new opportunities. But this welcoming of change cannot be done by our own strength but aided by the Supernatural.
The truth is, navigating through life’s changes becomes easy, when we realize we are not alone. While change is real, necessary and constant, we don’t have to face it by ourselves. In all the variableness of life, there is One whom change cannot affect, Whose love for you cannot be altered and Who could be with you all through it.
The bible says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” (Heb. 13:8).
Change is inevitable; you cannot face it alone. Have Jesus with you who will usher you in to the changes that you need to make in the New year.
