Kaleo 2017|DRAW NEAR

Mark your calendars, clear your schedules, and please make it a point to attend Kaleo 2017, ICANJ’s first ever youth conference, which will be held on Friday, June 23rd at 7:30 PM and Saturday, June 24th at 7 PM.

Entering into the family of God is not an end so much as it is a new beginning. It’s a launch into a life of kingdom impact–a life characterized by a ‘higher calling’. And that’s the heart behind Kaleo. That we as children of God are ‘The Called Ones’. And what precisely is this ‘calling’? It’s simply this: Receive Power. Be Witnesses. Make Disciples. Through this conference, it’s our desire to REFOCUS on our upward call, REDEDICATE our lives, and RECEIVE the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in order to REACH out to a world far from God and bring them into a relationship with Christ.

The theme for Kaleo 2017 is DRAW NEAR based on James 4:8, which exhorts us to ‘draw near to God that He might draw near to us’. On the surface, this Biblical directive–a command with an accompanying promise–seems straight-forward enough, but practically speaking, as children of God living in a fallen world, it’s often challenging to live out. The truth is, there’s a whole lot competing for our affection and attention from relationships to leisure to schoolwork to professional life. Our aim for 2017 is to discover just how we can re-orient our lives towards what is most important–our relationship with our heavenly Father. In turn, it’s our hope and prayer that we will experience the promise of the fullness of God’s power and presence as we endeavor to establish His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

This year’s guest speaker, Pr. Ashish Mathew, is a dynamic communicator of the gospel who God is using in a mighty way among today’s generation to harvest lost souls and to spread the flame of revival. Pastor Mathew graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Dallas with an MS in Counseling and an MA in Theological Studies. He resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife Sonia and their 15-month-old daughter, Mikayla.

We encourage the entire church to participate in what promises to be a powerful weekend of Worship, Word, and Fellowship. In addition, please feel free to invite your family and friends outside the church, so they too can hear and receive from the Lord and be blessed!
