How to Deal with your Burdens? (Part 3)

BURDENS TO SHOULDER ALONE (Gal. 6:5)

We have been looking at ‘HOW TO DEAL WITH OUR BURDENS?‘ from various angles and already considered the two very important aspects, ‘Burdens to Share‘, and ‘Burdens to Shed‘. It’s important to share in some of the burdens that people go through, whereas some of the burdens are to be shed.

At the same time, some of our burdens are ‘Burdens to be Shouldered Alone‘. Some of the burdens cannot be shared nor can they be shed. They rather have to be shouldered alone by each one.

They are like:

1. THE CONSEQUENCES OF OUR PAST SINFUL/GOOD CHOICES. (2 Cor. 5:10): Whatever choices we have made in the past, will have its bearings  accordingly, even in this life. Sinful choices always lead to specific consequences and burdens.

2. THE CONSEQUENCES OF CHOOSING THE CROSS (Phil. 1:13):

Some of the burdens are because of the deliberate choices that we have made, because we chose Christ, His ministry, or to lead a faithful, truthful life. We need to carry them willingly.

3. AS PART OF GOD’S PROCESS OF MATURING YOU (2 Cor. 12:9):

The process of maturing or perfecting might require you to have specific burdens. Apostle Paul faced a thorn in the flesh, which was necessary to keep him humble. No amount of prayer removed the burden but was only told that he would have a strong shoulder (My grace is sufficient for you).

How important for us is to understand the burdens that we face differently? Some of the burdens we need to share in with others, some are to be shed and yet some are to be shouldered by ourselves.

May the Lord help and empower us by His Holy Spirit to look at our burdens with these insights and deal with them as the Lord intends.
