How to Deal with your Burdens? (Part 1)

Share in the Burdens of Others – Gal. 6:1-5

We all have burdens of various kinds – physical handicaps, chronic sickness, emotional imbalances, uncertainties of the future, financial crises, family conflicts and depression, to name a few.

We also have spiritual burdens – living with spiritual failures, domination of sin, and now bearing its consequences.

We have burdens due to our spiritual calling – the price that you pay for your principled Christian life.

The question is ‘How can we effectively deal with our burdens?

Here is an effort to answer that  question in three parts: the first part is answered this week:

1. SHARE IN THE BURDENS OF OTHERS: “Bear one another’s burdens and thereby fulfill the law of christ” (Gal. 6:2). Which ones are to be shared?

a. Faults and Failures of Others (Gal. 6:1-2): Look for opportunities to serve, strengthen, encourage – not to trap, pull down or accuse.

b. Sorrow and Grief (Rom. 16:1): We have many people who live with heavy load of grief. Let the grace of God multiply in the life of others even as their sorrow is multiplied.

c. Purpose of our Own Affliction (2 Cor. 1:4): Then purpose of our own affliction is to show mercy to others.

May any the Lord help us to fulfill this teaching, which is termed as the ‘Royal law of Christ’!
